NTPC-NPCIL JV floats ₹28,000 crore tender for nuclear power plant in Rajasthan

Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Ltd, a joint venture between NTPC and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), issued a ₹28,000 crore tender for India's largest nuclear power plant contract, aiming to enhance the country's nuclear capacity. This marks a significant shift as it will be the first nuclear power plant not entirely owned by NPCIL, which currently holds all of India's 8.8GW nuclear capacity. Bids are open until September 30, 2026, as India targets 100GW of nuclear power by 2047 to bolster energy security.
