Over 10 lakh beneficiaries in West Bengal receive financial assistance under Paschim Banga Awas scheme
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that over 10 lakh beneficiaries received ₹60,000 each as the final instalment under the renamed Paschim Banga Awas scheme, totaling over ₹6,000 crore. The scheme provides ₹1.20 lakh in financial assistance for house construction, with new beneficiaries set to receive funds after the Durga Puja festival. Adhikari emphasized the historical significance of the name change and highlighted past funding irregularities under the previous administration.
