Painkillers, antibiotics, and kidney disease: Why has drug regulator issued a fresh warning?
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) warned against the improper use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and antibiotics, linking them to chronic kidney disease. The September 21 circular reiterated existing prescription requirements and cautioned against self-medication. The warning aims to curb avoidable renal complications, particularly among those with pre-existing conditions.
