Pune: PMC’s property tax rebate scheme records lowest takers for standalone rainwater harvesting systems
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) reported that only 4,846 out of 156,993 eligible property owners registered for tax rebates on standalone rainwater harvesting systems in FY 2025–26, marking the lowest uptake among various rebate categories. This figure represents just 3.1% of total beneficiaries, highlighting a lack of interest compared to solar and vermicomposting systems, which saw 32,946 and 47,418 registrations, respectively. Experts attribute the low participation to high setup costs and space constraints faced by housing societies and property owners.
