Ranchi cracks down on illegal rural construction
The Ranchi district administration has initiated a crackdown on unauthorized rural construction, warning property owners of severe legal repercussions for non-compliance with mandatory building plan approvals. Deputy Development Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Bhagat stated that any construction exceeding 5,000 square feet without the necessary approvals will be considered illegal, following amendments to the Jharkhand Building Byelaws. The administration has moved the approval process online to enhance transparency and efficiency, urging property owners to secure clearances to avoid punitive actions.
