Rupee jumps 40 paise to close at 95.38 against US dollar
The Indian rupee appreciated 40 paise to close at 95.38 against the US dollar, marking its third consecutive gain. This rise was driven by Reserve Bank of India measures to reduce dollar demand and curb speculation. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman noted the rupee's significant depreciation over the past year, indicating ongoing efforts to stabilize the currency.
