Scooter industry posts best-ever first-half sales in 2026
India's scooter industry achieved record first-half sales in 2026, with wholesales reaching 44.2 lakh units, a 33 percent increase year on year. Monthly sales exceeded 7 lakh units in five of six months, positioning the sector to surpass 90 lakh annual units for the first time. Market leader Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India maintained its dominance with 16.2 lakh units sold, while TVS Motor Company and Hero MotoCorp also reported significant growth.
