‘Single route’: Iran, Oman negotiate temporary Strait of Hormuz shipping corridor
Iran is negotiating with Oman to establish a temporary two-way shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to restore maritime traffic to pre-war levels within 30 days. Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated that Iran accepted responsibility under a June 18 memorandum to manage navigation in the strategic waterway. The negotiations follow disruptions caused by U.S. military actions and an alleged unlawful blockade affecting Iranian oil exports.
