Small homeowners in Lucknow to pay less for mutation
The Uttar Pradesh government approved a proposal from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to reduce mutation fees for small homeowners transferring properties through wills or inheritance. Under the new structure, fees will range from ₹1,000 for houses up to 1,000 sq ft to a maximum of ₹5,000 for properties over 3,000 sq ft, significantly lowering costs from the previous flat fee of ₹5,000. This change is expected to facilitate easier property transfers for smaller homeowners and will take effect within about 10 days after the government order is issued.
