Taxman looks to ease GST burden for India Inc
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has established a high-level working group to explore centralised GST administration for businesses with multiple registrations under the same Permanent Account Number (PAN). This initiative aims to streamline compliance and reduce audit challenges for companies operating across various states, addressing a long-standing demand from the industry. The 11-member panel, led by Vinayak Chandra Gupta, must submit its findings and implementation roadmap within 30 days, indicating a swift government response to the proposed reform.
