Texas hits pause on data centres
Texas paused approvals for new data centers connecting to its electric grid as Governor Greg Abbott ordered an audit of ongoing projects. This decision addresses concerns over electricity demand and local infrastructure, with over 1,800 projects pending, representing more than 474 gigawatts of potential demand. Abbott emphasized that projects must comply with state requirements to ensure Texans' safety and quality of life.
