Thane civic body proposes steep property tax hike of 12-20%
The Thane Municipal Corporation proposed a property tax hike of 12% for residential and up to 20% for non-residential properties to improve finances. This revision, the first in eight years, aims to generate ₹104.67 crore but won't close the existing revenue gap of ₹831.58 crore. The proposal awaits approval from the municipal General Body this week.
