Three officials in Madurai suspended for unbuilt houses under PMAY-Gramin

The Tamil Nadu government suspended three revenue officers in Madurai after an investigation revealed they colluded with residents to misappropriate funds from the Prime Minister's housing scheme, PMAY-G, for houses that were never built. The inquiry found that out of 18 examined houses, eight were not constructed, and officials used photographs of nearby homes to bypass mandatory GPS checks. Following a complaint in October 2025, the investigation uncovered a scheme involving falsified records and collusion among applicants and officials.
