UK watchdog opens first Online Safety Act probe into Meta
Britain's communications regulator, Ofcom, launched its first investigation into Meta under the Online Safety Act, focusing on the risks of its Instagram Instants feature. Ofcom will determine if Meta adequately assessed potential illegal content and risks to children before the feature's May launch. Meta stated it conducted a risk analysis and will cooperate with the investigation.
