Unauthorised layout cannot be a ground for denying power connection: Andhra Pradesh HC
The Andhra Pradesh High Court ruled that a house owner cannot be denied an electricity connection solely due to the property being in an unauthorised layout. The court directed the AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited to process the application of Garikina Satyarao, who had faced delays due to lack of a no-objection certificate from the local panchayat. The ruling emphasized that possession of the property and valid title should allow access to essential services like electricity, regardless of layout classification.
