UP Rajya Sabha polls: Smriti Irani, Kumar Vishwas likely BJP picks; Varun Gandhi, Hardeep Puri also in the mix
The Uttar Pradesh BJP submitted a panel of 25 candidates for the 16 October Rajya Sabha elections, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas. The BJP currently holds eight of the ten outgoing seats, and to secure all ten, they need 370 votes from their 289-member alliance. The final candidate list will impact the 2027 Assembly elections.
