‘UPI must remain zero MDR’: Mobile retailers announce October 2 protest
Mobile phone retailers in India will observe a 'No UPI Day' on October 2 to protest the proposed 0.4% Merchant Discount Rate on UPI transactions over ₹2,000. The All India Mobile Retailers Association warns that this could significantly affect small retailers. The government maintains that consumers will not incur this charge, which is set to take effect on October 15.
