US May Add Carrier, 10,000 Troops to Mideast, Official Says
The USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier departed San Diego, potentially increasing US military presence in the Middle East. If it arrives, it will boost carrier strike groups to three, alongside the USS George H.W. Bush and USS George Washington, totaling 5,000 sailors and Marines. Ongoing diplomatic negotiations with Iran remain stalled despite a lull in military strikes.
