Vedanta seeks Niyamgiri mining revival, pitches ₹1 lakh crore Odisha investment
Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to discuss reviving the Niyamgiri bauxite mining project. The project was previously halted in 2013 due to strong opposition from the Dongria Kondh community. Vedanta is proposing an investment of ₹1 lakh crore in Odisha, aiming to advance discussions on the mining revival.
