Vietnam outruns two Asian giants
Vietnam achieved the largest trade surplus with the United States in the first half of 2026, reaching $114 billion, surpassing China and Mexico. This growth stems from decades of economic reforms initiated in the 1980s, which transformed Vietnam into a key exporter. As a result, Vietnam is on track to become the top exporter to the US, reflecting significant shifts in global trade dynamics.
