‘Who is the BCI to come between the students and me?’: CJI condemns NALSAR enrolment freeze circular
The Supreme Court condemned the Bar Council of India (BCI) for its circular freezing enrolment at NALSAR University. Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud questioned the BCI's authority over students and ordered no coercive actions against them. The court also demanded an affidavit from the BCI explaining the circulars by August 21, 2026.
