Minister of State Suresh Gopi confirmed that the Indian government has not decided to raise ethanol blending in petrol beyond 20% or to introduce it in diesel for commercial use. He stated that any future decision would depend on scientific studies, vehicle compatibility, and stakeholder consultations. India achieved its 20% ethanol blending target five years ahead of schedule, significantly reducing carbon emissions and increasing farmer income.
