Women property registrations jump 45% in Chhattisgarh after fee slash

Chhattisgarh reported a 45% increase in property registrations in women's names after halving registration fees from 4% to 2%, raising their share of registered deeds from 32% to 41%. This policy, aimed at enhancing women's visibility in property records, resulted in 21,292 documents registered between May 6 and June 30, compared to 14,668 in the same period last year. The initiative not only provides financial relief of ₹50.14 crore to citizens but also seeks to promote social justice and women's financial stability.
