World Bank raises India FY27 growth aim to 7.1%
The World Bank raised India's economic growth forecast for fiscal 2026-27 to 7.1%, up from 6.6%, citing resilient domestic consumption. Despite a projected slowdown from 8.6% growth in 2025-26, the region's largest economy is expected to drive South Asia's growth, which is now forecasted at 6.9%. Risks from high oil prices and severe weather remain.
