10,470 voter applications approved without documents EC suspends two UP officers
- The Election Commission of India ECI ordered the suspension of two electoral registration officers over voter roll irregularities in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.
- • An inquiry found that 13,779 Form 8 applications were entered for voter detail changes, but no supporting documents were found.
- Of these entries, 10,470 were approved and 3,309 rejected between May 31 and August 29.
- The ECI also ordered a statewide review of voter lists, focusing on additions, deletions and corrections made through Forms 6, 7 and 8.
