21-year-old turns river warrior to clean MP’s polluted Ajnar
- Bittu Tabahi, a 21-year-old BSc student, began cleaning Biaora’s polluted Ajnar River on January 26.
- He removes waste largely by hand despite infections, encounters with snakes during the clean-up.
- Biaora municipality later backed his drive with heavy machinery to clear old waste, debris and polythene.
- Officials say five drains release untreated wastewater; a ₹14.77-crore sewage treatment plant is proposed.
