- Five IIT Madras alumni turned a college Hyperloop project into GalaxEye, a satellite startup founded in 2021.
- GalaxEye developed OptoSAR, combining optical and radar imaging to capture Earth images even through clouds and darkness.
- Its Mission Drishti satellite launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 in May 2026, carrying both imaging systems onboard.
- The startup has now secured a US patent for its imaging technology, becoming the first Indian startup to do so.
