Abandoned babies added to Tamil Nadu gold ring scheme
- From 15 September, babies born in Tamil Nadu government hospitals will receive a one-gram gold ring.
- Abandoned babies in government facilities will qualify, with child protection officers receiving their rings.
- Intrauterine deaths, stillbirths and babies born privately before transfer to state hospitals are ineligible.
