Alibaba unveils AI model that detects 146 conditions from CT scans
- Alibaba’s DAMO Academy has open-sourced Damo Radar, an AI model that analyses CT scans for diseases.
- The model can detect 146 conditions, including cancers, across 18 abdominal organs.
- Tested on nearly 40,000 CT scans, Damo Radar recorded an average accuracy measure of 0.913 AUC.
- In a study of 26 radiologists, the AI outperformed 23; using it also cut missed diagnoses by 10%.
