Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma begins Adani power's ₹48,000 crore thermal project
- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for Adani Power’s 3,200 MW thermal plant.
- The Chapar project in Dhubri district involves an investment of ₹48,000 crore and four 800 MW units.
- The project is expected to create up to 20,000 construction jobs and around 5,000 operational jobs.
- The ₹63,000-crore investment also includes two pumped storage plants with combined capacity of 2,700 MW.
