BJP’s invisible campaigners spend ₹15 lakh a month on Meta ads in UP
- ThePrint reported that anonymous Meta pages promoting the BJP and attacking the Opposition spent about ₹15 lakh in one month in Uttar Pradesh.
- ‘Nonstop UP’ spent around ₹7.2 lakh promoting the UP government, while ‘Yaad Rakhega UP’ spent ₹5.63 lakh attacking Akhilesh Yadav.
- BJP-linked pages also targeted the Congress and AAP, while Opposition pages together spent less than ₹2,000 during the period.
- The BJP’s UP social media head distanced the party from these pages, saying anyone could create third-party pages in anyone’s name.
