Bombay HC orders ₹5 lakh payout to Pune sweets shop after license suspension
- Bombay High Court on Monday ordered Maharashtra FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh to a Pune sweet shop for wrongly keeping its licence suspended.
- Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge said the FDA was going overboard, calling its licence suspension policy strange and perverse.
- The shop's licence was suspended on June 12 but a re-inspection on July 13 found 98% compliance and the licence was still not restored.
- The court permitted Gurunanak Dairy and Sweets to reopen and ordered the FDA to pay Rs 5 lakh within a month.
