Centre asks all states to ensure hospitals display treatment charges

The Union Health Ministry has directed all states and union territories to ensure hospitals display their service rates clearly.
Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava wrote to state Chief Secretaries, urging them to review compliance with existing healthcare regulations.
Under the 2010 Clinical Establishments Act and 2012 rules, rate charts must be displayed in English and local languages.
States must also require hospitals to publicly display package rates offered to foreign medical visa patients.
