Centre clears ₹1,175-crore Teesta bridge project to strengthen North Bengal connectivity
- The Centre approved ₹1,175.59 crore for a 6.91 kilometre, six lane Teesta bridge project, in West Bengal.
- The bridge will come up at Sevoke on National Highway 10 in Darjeeling.
- The project will provide an alternative route to the historic Coronation Bridge commissioned in 1941.
- The project aims to improve passenger and freight movement towards Sikkim and Northeast India.
