Centre sets up social security board for gig and platform workers
- The Centre has constituted the National Social Security Board for unorganised, gig and platform workers under the Code on Social Security, 2020.
- • The Board will recommend and monitor welfare schemes covering health, accident insurance, maternity benefits and old-age protection.
- It will include representatives from government, companies such as Swiggy and Zomato, employers and workers' unions, and meet at least thrice a year.
