Five baby orangutans rescued from forest in Odisha, wildlife smuggling suspected
- Five baby orangutans were rescued from a forest near Badapai village in Odisha's Balasore on Tuesday.
- Officials suspect wildlife smuggling, since orangutans are not native to India and can't migrate there naturally.
- Four of the five juveniles were found healthy, per DFO Pratik Prakash Indalkar, and are under veterinary care.
- A Nandankanan Zoological Park team is coordinating their transfer, with the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau likely to probe.
