FM Sitharaman says Indian colleges produce graduates not fit for jobs

- India added 5 million graduates a year but only 1.7 million became salaried workers annually between 2004 and 2023.
- Around 11 million of India's graduates aged 20-29 were unemployed in 2023, with only 55% considered employable.
- India's youth population of 367 million in 2026 is set to fall to 345 million by 2036, narrowing the demographic dividend.
