Hyderabad’s NRSC spots two new water bodies near Nepal avalanche zone
- Hyderabad-based NRSC, under ISRO, detected two new water bodies near Nepal’s Langtang Lirung glacier after a major avalanche.
- Satellite images show the two water bodies cover nearly 30 hectares in total, with debris blocking natural drainage.
- The larger water body spans around 19 hectares, while the smaller one covers about 11 hectares.
- NRSC has called for close monitoring of the new water bodies to track changes and assess any potential risk from the unstable terrain.
