IIT Bombay meets student protesters over their 18 demands, after a death on campus
- IIT Bombay Director Shireesh Kedare signed an 18-point charter after protests over a student’s death by suicide.
- Students have demanded an independent probe into the death and greater student representation.
- The demands also include better counselling, 24/7 mental-health support, faculty sensitisation and a task force on student well-being.
- Students have sought action against the professor involved in the exam incident, while IIT Bombay’s Faculty Forum has backed him.
