India rejects international court’s ruling on water-sharing treaty with Pakistan
- India rejected the World Bank-constituted Court of Arbitration’s ruling on the Indus Waters Treaty, calling the body illegally formed.
- The MEA said the court has no jurisdiction and India has never recognised its legal existence or proceedings.
- The ruling said the Indus Waters Treaty remains in force and India cannot keep it in abeyance unilaterally.
- India said its decision to keep the treaty in abeyance remains unchanged and the ruling will not affect its sovereign decisions or projects.
