India wants its defence ties with Bangladesh to continue, its envoy says in Dhaka
- India has kept up defence contact with Bangladesh since Tarique Rahman became prime minister in February.
- Its high commissioner met the Bangladesh PM's defence adviser in Dhaka Cantonment in April, on training and capacity building.
- Bangladesh's envoy separately met India's army chief in Delhi, discussing joint training and regional security.
- But Dhaka wants Sheikh Hasina extradited and has said Rahman will not travel to India until that happens.
