India’s Census 2027 headcount to run for a record 50 days from January 10
- The Census 2027 headcount of every person in India will run a record 50 days from 10 January 2027.
- In 2011 the same stage ran 20 days, from 9 to 28 February, so the window is two and a half times longer.
- The 50 days include 15 in which households can fill in their own details before enumerators call.
- Enumerators will ask 40 questions this time, including on caste, against 29 asked in the 2011 census.
