Israel records highest 6 pm voter turnout since 1973 as over 4 million cast ballots
- Israel recorded 66.7% turnout by 6 pm on Tuesday, the highest at that hour since records began in 1973.
- More than 4 million of the 7.3 million eligible voters had cast ballots, the election committee said.
- Exit polls left Netanyahu’s bloc and Gadi Eisenkot’s camp both short of a majority in the Knesset.
- Arab turnout was forecast to rise to about 63% from 53% in 2022, which could decide the arithmetic.
