Karnataka cuts Cauvery water release to Tamil Nadu to 5,200 cusecs amid weak inflows
- Karnataka reduced Cauvery water discharge to Tamil Nadu to 5,200 cusecs on Monday, down from 11,983 cusecs a day earlier.
- The cut followed weakening rainfall and inflows in the upper catchment areas of Kodagu and Wayanad.
- Of the total, 4,800 cusecs came from the Krishnaraja Sagar reservoir and 1,200 cusecs from Kabini.
- Authorities are monitoring reservoir levels, as fresh rain in the catchment areas could help restore inflows.
