Kochi police chief removed, four officers suspended over fatal Mercedes crash

• Kerala has removed Kochi’s police commissioner over the handling of a fatal hit-and-run involving a judge’s teenage son.
Jayabalakrishnan, 55, who ran a roadside eatery, was riding a scooter when a Mercedes hit him early on Sunday.
Four officers from the local station were suspended on Tuesday after an inquiry by a senior officer.
The 17-year-old was booked for rash driving and causing death by negligence, then released on station bail.
