- Lionel Messi has reached an agreement in principle to buy 100% of Spanish second-division club CD Eldense.
- The deal would make Eldense Messi’s second Spanish club after his acquisition of fifth-tier UE Cornellà earlier this year.
- The purchase is still subject to legal formalities, due diligence and approval from Spain’s High Council for Sports.
- Eldense are currently struggling in the Segunda Division, sitting near the bottom of the table without a win this season.
