Monsoon disruption leaves 45 coal plants low on fuel
- Central Electricity Authority data showed that 45 Indian coal plants had critical fuel stocks, up from 31 in July.
- At these plants, critical stock means fuel inventory below 25% of the required level, or enough fuel for less than three days.
- Heavy rain in Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh disrupted coal mining and transportation as power demand rose.
