Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train gets new technology to switch tracks at 320 kmph speed
- The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor will use a movable crossing technology to switch tracks at speeds up to 320 kmph.
- The system uses a swing-nose crossing, where parts of the track move to maintain continuous rail contact during switching.
- Two separate control systems will check track alignment, improving safety and reducing vibration, noise and wear on trains.
- The high-speed rail corridor connects Mumbai in Maharashtra and Ahmedabad in Gujarat and is being developed by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited.
