Musk promises SpaceX shares for every US child ahead of potential IPO

• Elon Musk promised on October 19 to give one SpaceX share to every child in America next year.
The giveaway could cover over 72 million children and be worth around $11 billion, based on SpaceX’s valuation.
The plan comes as SpaceX prepares for a potential public listing, which could make its shares available to investors.
Musk has not revealed who will qualify or how shares will be distributed, calling this the first of more plans.
