NCERT adds ‘From Ideas to Startups’ chapter to Class 9 Social Science textbook
- The National Council of Educational Research and Training NCERT has added a chapter on startups to its new Class 9 Social Science textbook.
- The chapter covers business opportunities, planning, India's startup ecosystem and the role of AI in business decisions.
- The book says India had about 350-400 startups a decade ago and now has nearly 2.3 lakh, the world's third largest.
- It uses stories of Indian entrepreneurs, including Lijjat Papad's start in 1959 and Mohan Singh Oberoi's rise.
